Lawton Correctional Facility Inmate Veteran’s Group Supports CCEF!

On September 7, 2017, Creative Corrections Education Foundation staff visited the GEO Group operated Lawton Correctional facility in Lawton, Oklahoma and provided a presentation about the foundation to the inmate veteran’s group. It was a pleasure to be invited to the facility to address this group of individuals because the founded of CCEF (Percy Pitzer), is a Vietnam Veteran and believes in supporting such an important cause.

Staff addressed the inmate veterans group and provided an overview on how the foundation is providing financial assistance through scholarships and financial aid to young adults of the incarcerated nationwide so they can obtain a degree or trade certificate which will help them compete in the business sector and become self-supported with gainful employment.  At the completion of the presentation, the inmate veterans group donated over $4,000 to the foundation to help in the financial cost of providing scholarships and financial aid for the applicants.

CCEF would like to thank Warden Hector Rios for supporting the foundation's mission of helping young adults of the incarcerated achieve higher education versus possible incarceration.
