No education, no job skills creates higher poverty rates, higher crime rates and a number of people being incarcerated.  The average cost of incarceration in America is between $40,000 - $50,000 per offender per year.  It is much cheaper to educate a person than it is to incarcerate them.  In our Milwaukee Right Path Program we took a young man who was serving a sentence at the Milwaukee County House of Correction, placed him in a high school program at the Milwaukee Area Technical College and last week he graduated with the highest GPA in his class.  He is now enrolled in a welding program at the college.  Our intentions with both Right Path Programs are to take it nationwide as resources become available.  The success of the program will depend on community involvement.  Please click on the tab below and help us continue making communities safer by donating today.

How the incarcerated can make a difference on reducing Second Generation Crime

  • CCEF is asking the incarcerated to donate once a month, the price of a candy bar, to help send a young adult of an incarcerated parent to school.
  • Every penny that is donated from the incarcerated will go directly towards a scholarship.
  • No incarcerated donated funds will ever be used for overhead cost, administrative fees or staff salaries.
  • Incarcerated donated funds received from a particular state will stay in that state to fund a young adult's scholarship.  For example, if an individual is incarcerated in the state of New York and donates to the foundation, the donated funds will be used to award a scholarship to a young adult in New York.  The only exception would be if the young adult attends college in Florida, the scholarship award would come from the New York funds.

How the public can make a difference on reducing Second Generation Crime

  • Donors have the option of funding a scholarship for young adults of the incarcerated in any state nationwide.
  • Donors can choose to donate to the Right Path Program.
  • Donors can fund a scholarship in the name of a love one.
  • Donations can be given to fund a $5000, $1000 dollar scholarship or any amount you choose.
  • Donors will receive a thank you letter appropriate for IRS Charitable Giving.
  • Our progress on scholarship awards will be continually updated on this website displaying the state and number of awards given to date.

 We appreciate your generosity!
